Session 2 Design and implement curriculum in
consultation with others
This includes
·
Consult with children and families to assist
with reflecting on the current curriculum and learning environments and
identify current strengths and goals

Design & Implement curriculum that reflects
the philosophy of the service

A few points to think about for your blog:
- Element 1.1.1 of the Early Years Learning Framework asks educators to focus on progressing each child’s learning and development towards the five Learning Outcomes when planning the curriculum. Element 1.1.2states that ‘Each child’s current knowledge, ideas, culture, abilities and interests are the foundation of the program.’ How do educations ensure the curriculum is designed to ensure each child’s current knowledge, ideas, culture, abilities and interests are the foundation of the program?
- In what ways can children & families contribute to your planning and implementation of the curriculum?
Session 3 Design learning experiences to foster
children’s learning and development
This includes

Collect data on each child
·
Analyse data collected to
identify each child’s interests, strengths and goals in conjunction with
approved learning network
·
Clarify specific objectives, learning environments, role of the educator
and assessment/evaluation methods and evidence using the approved framework’s
learning outcomes, principles and practices.
·
Design learning environments
to foster holistic learning & provide continuity of learning and
transitions
·
Plan for ways to monitor and
asses children’s learning consistent with the principle and practices of the
approved framework, ensuring both planned and unplanned experiences are
considered for assessment

Session 4 Implement learning experiences to foster
children’s learning and development
This includes
·
Ensure that required
materials are identified and available at time of implementation

Set up the physical learning
environment
·
Co-construct meaning with
children and ensure there are sustained interactions
·
Model and promote enabling
learning dispositions
·
Monitor and reflect on
children’s learning and own pedagogical practices and continuously refine

Session 5 Assess and evaluate planned and unplanned

Collect data using a range
of methods in order to assess and evaluate teaching and learning, both planned
and unplanned, using approved frameworks
·
Ensure assessment and
evaluation of the curriculum and learning experiences are regular and in
accordance with service guidelines

Use assessment and
evaluation to influence the design of future curriculum and learning
experiences
